Lavender Pastry began long before our doors opened in Ottawa.

In 2023, our family; Elaheh, Ghasem, Shirin and Rozhin  arrived in Canada with four suitcases, a dream, and a determination to build a new life from the ground up.

Everything was new. A new country, a new language, new rules, new schools, new jobs, and a completely unfamiliar city. Like many newcomer families, we started from zero. building a home, finding work, making friends, and learning how to navigate everyday life in a new country.

But one thing never changed.

Elaheh's passion for pastry.

Before moving to Canada, Elaheh spent more than 12 years creating custom cakes, teaching cake decorating, and helping people celebrate life's most meaningful moments through beautiful desserts.

Only a few months after arriving in Canada, the first custom cake order came in.

At the time, we didn't even know where to buy a cake box.

What started in our home kitchen quickly became a second full-time job. After long workdays, we would spend evenings and weekends preparing cakes, cheesecakes, pastries, and learning every step of building a business in a new country.

For months, we worked seven days a week, often more than fourteen hours a day.

The journey wasn't easy, but every custom cake delivered, every returning customer, and every smile from our daughters reminded us why we started.

One year after arriving in Canada, our dream became reality.

In December 2024, Lavender Pastry was born.

Today, Lavender Pastry is a family-owned cake studio, pastry shop, café, and Afternoon Tea destination in Ottawa's Wellington West. We are known for custom cakes, signature cheesecakes, handcrafted pastries, and thoughtful experiences designed to bring people together.
